Stylin' Like Monroe

Monroe Steele is my favorite inspiration.

I'm always inspired by women. Especially the women of New York City. The way they dress is unapologetic and expressive. The way they carry themselves is like no other. It's one of the many reasons I moved to New York. I wanted to have that air of confidence and style, I had to move and be as close to it as possible. Moving to this great city has helped me meet so many incredible fashionable women of all shapes, sizes, and ethnicities.

One woman whose style is beyond incredible is Monroe Steele of Fashion Steele NYC. I met Monroe a few years ago at a Grits and Biscuits southern dance party. We danced all night to southern music and talked about growing up down south. She was nice, inviting, and her style was everything and then some. We followed each other on social media and that's when I discovered her amazing style. I found myself liking photo after photo because she's the epitome of New York style. I was and am still in complete awe of her. Take a look at a few of my favorite outfits from her. You'll see why I'm so inspired by her.

Monroe has a way of accessorizing the hell out of an outfit. Everything from pairing a skirt and top with statement earrings. To wearing a fully fringe skirt and a pair of sandals. Making it look like the Chicest outfit you've ever seen. She makes it look so effortless!
