Dreams Come True!
2016 has been beyond amazing. God has truly blessed me with some awesomely, wonderful opportunities. The most recent of which was designing my own swimsuits for one of my favorite brands, Rebdolls.
I teamed up with my bestie, Chante, of EverythingCurvyandChic, and together we designed five fun, flirty and sexy pieces, from size small-5XL.Here’s how it all went down: We voiced our concerns to Rebdolls about the fit and support of their swimsuits, and spoke to them about possibly doing a style collaboration—and they agreed! We literally had three weeks to design, find the perfect fabric, produce, and then shoot the pieces. It was one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done, and it's been super rewarding seeing my designs come to life.
Our main focus on this swimsuit collection was support. Especially, boob support! Finding the perfect swimsuit to give my, seemingly, larger-than-life, boobs the lift I need can be difficult. So, I tried my best to give you quality, supportive swimsuits that are also fun and comfortable for all sizes. In addition to boob support, every single swimsuit has power mesh for tummy control.
Again, we wanted to make sure every person who purchases a swimsuit feels supported, comfortable, and confident.Below is an explanation of each swimsuit, as well as, sizing: Here is a cheesy side note for you (judge me if you must): I moved to NYC years ago with the dream of becoming the next big plus size model.
Over the years I've succeeded and failed at so many things, I can’t even count. I've been called too big, black, short and/or not enough in general, by people and brands I've wanted to work with. Now, in this moment, I can look back and be grateful for those no's and closed doors.
Those moments led me to this: A collection of swimsuits, designed by a woman who grew up with no swimsuit options; a body positive pool party tour, filled with gorgeous women of all shapes and sizes, from a woman that grew up with no one who looked like her at any pool function. The same girl, who after years of hoping and wishing to model for her dream designer, finally got her chance!Life gets hard, and there are days when giving up seems like the best option.
But, keep pushing, striving and going toward your goals. My life is living proof that dreams come true!Major thank you to Rebdolls for this incredible opportunity.
