Collaboration Over Competition : SPANX

SPANX Extended Sizes

Essie Golden for SPANX

Hey guys! I’m beyond excited for this post.  I’ve decided to continue my series, Collaboration Over Competition. As you may remember, I did my first post with my good friend Kristina Zias.  I’m back again with one of my favorite creators, Caralyn Mirand, and we’re talking about Spanx!

Caralyn Mirand is an incredible content creator, model, designer, and all-around good person. I had met her a few times at events in NYC, and she was always so kind. Have you ever met someone who positively changes the energy of the room when they walk in? That’s Caralyn. She has such a bright light and a great personality. She is one of the few creators I’ve met who are truly what they portray to be online.

With everything going on with Covid and so many issues going on in the world, it’s important for us to come together. We are strong together. Caralyn agrees with this mission, and we came together to collaborate with one of my favorite brands, SPANX.

When you think of great shapewear, Spanx is the brand that comes to mind. I don’t know what magical fabric Spanx uses or what powers they have, but they are the truth! A good foundation is important for any outfit. This is something I’ve always talked about, and it also happens to be something Caralyn is an expert on (check out her post).

Now, we know Spanx has shapewear, but did you also know that they made clothes? I had seen Caralyn talk about how great their clothing items were, but I didn’t know they also have true plus sizes. Many brands claim to carry plus but stop at a 14 or XL. I wear anywhere between a size 18-22, so I was a little skeptical of sizing. When she told me they had up to 3X, I had to try it.

So, believe me when I tell you their clothing items are the truth! I tried the jeans on, and the fit was beyond perfection. I could not stop stealing looks at myself. You may have to do the little shimmy to put them on, but you’ll be fine. There’s a tummy control panel that makes you feel supported but not uncomfortable. I loved the little frayed distressed detail at the bottom. This is real deal denim.

I also got the opportunity to try the faux leather pants and fell in love. I have a love-hate relationship with faux leather pants. Sometimes they’re too tight, or the fabric quality can be off and unforgiving. Nothing is worse than my cellulite showing through the fabric. Again, Spanx has super magical powers because these pants are perfect. You feel supported yet comfortable. They look good!

Below are how I styled both looks. I hope you take the time to try out all Spanx products. Also, be sure to check out Caralyn Mirand’s blog. I promise you’ll love her just as much as I do.
